Generals in a Jeep

General Douglas MacArthur was as big as any rock star in his olive drab five-star uniform. He felt he was destined by God to hold his military position.

General MacArthur led the United Nations Command in the Korean War from 1950 to 1951. Eight days after this image was taken, MacArthur was removed from this command by President Harry S. Truman. MacArthur had voiced to the press his critical opinion of President Truman's limited-war strategy.

MacArthur served in the military for 52 years.

The specially modified Jeep 4x4 has a bar allowing General MacArthur to stand as he inspected the troops at the command post in Yang Yang, Korea.

The post was roughly 15 miles north of the 38th parallel, April 3, 1951.

Kind of looks like QR Codes on their Parade Flags. Might make for a clever marketing opportunity.

Living the Jeep Life is more than owning a vehicle. It's about the world-wide family that comes for the ride when you purchase an authentic Jeep 4x4. The new Jeep Experience seamlessly blends the Flickr world into the corporate website with a blend of life images. A number of my images were used in the original launch of the site. Not all sheetmetal and rubber, the new site exudes life, adventure and everything good about the Jeep lifestyle. Bravo!

Skittles.com is Social Slick

The Palm Pre promises to be effortlessly blend a sea of social networks into one easy-to-use device. We did something similar at the Jeep brand when we pooled all the social media sites into one hub. The innovative Jeep Experience portal is the collective home to Flickr, YouTube, Facebook, MySpace and more. It's your one-stop-shop for everything Jeep.

Now Skittles has launched skittles.com and it's based on a floating navigation menu that remains the same regardless of the social media site your on. Instead of importing videos or photos to their site, or linking the user out to Flickr, or YouTube - the navigation follows you on your path to social serenity. While this navigation system won't work for most applications - it is a strong hint at things to come in the future in regards to fluid infrastructure and seamless integration to social networks. Bravo to the Media Planner who bought into this elegant experiment.
