Ariens 832 Snow Blower with Clarence Impeller Kit

Took a video of my "new" Ariens 832 snow blower. The blower has an eight horsepower (HM80) Tecumseh engine with a 32-inch bucket. Bought it from a retired gentleman, a precision grinder by trade, who posted it on Craigslist a few months back. He said he purchased it new in 1975, used it a few years and then winterized & stored it in his walkout basement after his neighbor gifted him a 1979 Ariens 1032 when moving south.

The 832 starts up on the first or second pull if I do my part. Replaced the muffler with a New Old Stock part found online (originally for a minibike - I took off the deflector). Also rubbed cross-country ski wax on the inside of the chute. Snow just glides off.

I also installed a Clarence Impeller Kit as it was just dribbling out slush when first purchased.  Now it throws about 40% farther and I haven't had to clear it yet. I'm guessing it's throwing about 25 feet, haven't measured it. Guessing it will throw farther with some heavier snow. Fresh fuel has Sea Foam added for good measure.

The original owner followed the instructions meticulously and took off the fuel tank every spring for storage. He also put on a new scraper bar and skid shoes. The Ariens is a model 924016  / Serial No. 00404 with matching numbers. The teardrop bucket is model 924012 / Serial No. 010030. This thing is built like a tank and works like a Swiss watch. Hoping to get many good years of service out of her.

Jeep Brand & Juventus Partner Together

Part of the Jeep brand's marketing campaign includes a strong international push including a Eur35 million buy in sponsorship of the Italian Juventus Club. It's a three year deal, showing the long term commitment the brand has in the market. Juventus claims more than 295 million followers around the world. Another American automaker, Chevrolet had signed on to sponsor Manchester United, a popular English team. Of particular note, the Agnelli family, which has a controlling stake in Fiat-Chrysler, also runs the Italian Juventus Club. Part of the sponsorship includes a prominent Jeep logo on all jerseys of players and referees. The Jeep brand will also become the official vehicle supplier for Juventus.

An amazing display of football skills can be found in this promotional video tying Juventus and Jeep brand together. Gunther Celi, the reigning Italian champion of freestyle football and his team mate Andrea Free7 show some amazing skills in this YouTube video. Looking forward to increased sales, both domestically and internationally. Enjoy.

What is an Ad Impression?

What is an Ad Impression? by lee.ekstrom
What is an Ad Impression?, a photo by lee.ekstrom on Flickr.
An ad impression is a measure of the number of times an ad is seen by a user. It is also known as an "ad view."

Social media plays a role in ad impressions, and can reap big benefits at little upfront cost. Consider how the Jeep brand reaped hundreds of thousands of impressions when Evan van der Spuy, a mountain biker on team Jeep South Africa who was hit by an antelope (red hartebeest) was interviewed by numerous networks post t-bone.

The crazy footage was launched on YouTube and was an instant hit. This kind of event is rare - it's kind of like winning the lottery.

Coca Cola Friendship Machine - 2 for 1

Love the idea behind this Coca-Cola marketing. Check it out at YouTube. The Coca Cola Friendship machine case helped Ogilvy Argentina win Argentina Direct Agency of the Year for 2011. The idea: What if you can climb up a huge Coke machine and get 2 coke bottles for the price of one?

Chrysler Eminem Super Bowl Commercial - Imported From Detroit

Love this commercial. The tone, voice talent, Detroit-theme. It works. Imported From Detroit tagline is brilliant.

VW Black Beetle YouTube Take Over

Liked the VW XLV super bowl ad. But the YouTube take-over at youtube.com/blackbeetle will create even more buzz. The damn thing gone wild (bam-a-lam). VW's racing-striped Black Beetle knocks dirt and bombastically bam-ba-lam's the foundation of Youtube as it races to knock the user interface silly to Jon Spencer Blues Explosion's cover of Ram Jam's infectious "Black Betty." Nice one-two punch.

Skittles.com is Social Slick

The Palm Pre promises to be effortlessly blend a sea of social networks into one easy-to-use device. We did something similar at the Jeep brand when we pooled all the social media sites into one hub. The innovative Jeep Experience portal is the collective home to Flickr, YouTube, Facebook, MySpace and more. It's your one-stop-shop for everything Jeep.

Now Skittles has launched skittles.com and it's based on a floating navigation menu that remains the same regardless of the social media site your on. Instead of importing videos or photos to their site, or linking the user out to Flickr, or YouTube - the navigation follows you on your path to social serenity. While this navigation system won't work for most applications - it is a strong hint at things to come in the future in regards to fluid infrastructure and seamless integration to social networks. Bravo to the Media Planner who bought into this elegant experiment.
